He has led complex operations, international growth programmes and major business transformations with deep expertise in operational excellence, Lean, supply chain, new product industrialisation and organisational development.
Richard previously spent eight years with TBM as Managing Director for Europe and India. During that time, he quadrupled European revenues and developed TBM’s Lean Management System practice.
Before returning to TBM, Richard spent more than a decade as CEO of TRB Lightweight Structures, where he transformed the business into an advanced composites technology company, increased revenue by approximately 240% and expanded manufacturing operations across the UK. During this time he developed new technology in composite automation which supported the creation of a joint venture between Toyota Tsusho USA and TRB in Kentucky USA to make components for EV batteries.
Earlier in his career, Richard held senior operational and supply chain leadership roles with Whirlpool, Goodrich Aerospace and Perkins Engines, leading large manufacturing operations and major improvements in capacity, cost, inventory and working capital performance.
Richard holds a Bachelor of Science degree, an MITD Diploma in Training Management and is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt. He has also completed Shingijutsu Lean Manufacturing training, adding to more than two decades of practical experience leading Lean and operational transformation in complex manufacturing environments.
Today, Richard works with leadership teams to strengthen operational performance, build effective management systems and translate business strategy into sustained results.
